About McInnes Legal

A LAW PRACTICE YOU CAN TRUST

McInnes Legal is an independent family-run law practice you can trust. We are committed to doing all we can to obtain compensation for those who have been injured at work, on the road, in a public place or because of a crime.

Because we are a small practice, your file is handled personally by the senior lawyer, not the legal assistant  or the junior lawyer. Your lawyer will keep up to date and take all your calls personally, and if necessary, return missed calls quickly. That’s a promise.  Being a smaller firm, we focus on securing results for you, not major corporate branding, enabling us to keep our costs to a minimum so you can keep the majority of your compensation, without having to pay over-inflated legal fees.  Our firm has grown through word-of-mouth and we have no need to rely on fancy advertising. Our clients put their family and friends on to us, which is the best recommendation we could ask for.

We are empathetic and compassionate. We take on both straightforward and complex cases, but no matter your circumstances our focus is to achieve a fair outcome for you. We are proud of the results we have achieved for our clients.

For all your personal injury and legal needs, please contact us. We are always happy to listen.

With 16 years’ experience in personal injury law, winning compensation for WorkCover and TAC for clients, Carolyn McInnes specialises in representing clients suffering from stress-related injuries. Carolyn is a personal injury law expert and was first admitted into practice in 2003. She has since worked predominantly in personal injury litigation, and  has worked for the WorkCover Authority, Herbert Geer Lawyers, Nowicki Carbone and JN Zigouras.

Carolyn represented Pasquale De Petro in the landmark bullying and harassment claims case, De Petro v. International Airline Services, Country Court, winning her client more than $325,000.00 in common law damages, and setting a new precedent for bullying cases. She has also represented those affected by sexual harassment and assault as well as the many victims of James Gargasoulas who drove through a crowd on Bourke Street on 20th January 2017. Carolyn has secured six-digit compensation for her clients on more than one occasion including winning 13 years of weekly payments from the Medical Panel for an injured worker dating back to 2001, amounting to over $300,000.00.

Carolyn has a particular interest in helping stress-related injured workers. Far too many of these claims are rejected by WorkCover, but with the right legal representation, Carolyn has personally seen that these claims will be accepted by WorkCover without the need to go to court. Carolyn is especially focused on ensuring you receive WorkCover or TAC compensation to pay for your day-to-day expenses including loss of earning entitlements and medical expenses.
